🐾What is Shelter of the Month?

Shelter of the Month is CatCause’s nationwide donation program built to spotlight and support one cat rescue or animal shelter in every state — one at a time, every month.

Each month we feature one incredible cat shelter from Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. These are our pilot states — the foundation of a larger mission to eventually include shelters across the entire U.S.

100% for Shelters. Always.
Every donation made through CatCause goes directly to the featured shelter’s most urgent needs — like food, veterinary care, and safe housing. CatCause covers operational costs so that 100% of your donation truly helps cats.

How It Works:

  1. Explore the current Shelter of the Month listings in our active regions.

  2. Choose a state to view that month’s featured shelter and campaign.

  3. Donate directly to support their work and make an immediate impact.

  4. Watch for updates — as CatCause expands, new states and shelters will join the program each year.

Together, we’re building a transparent, community-driven way to support cat rescues — starting in the Midwest, growing nationwide.
