Today’s Update Turning Care Into Action 🐾

Today was one of those days that quietly reinforced why CatCause exists.

After receiving our first month donations in January 2026, we worked with a local Petco retail network to coordinate directly with a shelter so that support reached where it was truly needed. Rather than guessing what might help, we connected with Heaven Can Wait Animal Haven (located in Michigan) to fulfill items from their active Wishlist. This ensured that every dollar and every item would make a meaningful difference.

The wet food purchased today consists of Fancy Feast Gourmet kitten formulas. These were intentionally selected because growing kittens require nutrient dense meals to support healthy development. Quality nutrition is especially important in rescue environments where kittens may be recovering from difficult beginnings.

We also had the opportunity to speak directly with the shelter’s founder, which made the experience even more meaningful. Rescue organizations operate with incredible care, organization, and dedication, often with limited resources. Supporting them in ways that respect their systems and real needs is essential.

The food and supplies will be dropped off this week through Heaven Can Wait’s resale store, where they will be distributed to cats and kittens who need them most.

This update reflects CatCause’s commitment to working directly with shelters, supporting current and verified needs, and leading every effort with care, transparency, and respect.
